We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between customers and the service department, ensuring that all automotive repair needs are accurately documented and addressed. This position requires a strong understanding of automotive services, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to upsell additional services when appropriate.
Duties
- Greet customers upon arrival and assess their service needs.
- Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues for the service technicians.
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and services, including shocks struts, air brake systems, and other automotive repair tasks.
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Manage service orders from initiation to completion, ensuring timely updates to customers.
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate transmission of information regarding repairs and parts required.
- Handle any customer inquiries or complaints professionally, suspending any negative experiences by providing effective solutions.
- Maintain organized records of all service transactions and customer interactions.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dealership environment or automotive service management is preferred.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and auto body repair is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of automotive systems and components is essential for effective communication with both customers and technicians.
