Position Overview : We are seeking a skilled and dependable School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, following designated routes and schedules in a safe and efficient manner. The School Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere on the bus. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student safety and welfare.
Responsibilities :
- Safely operate a school bus in compliance with all traffic laws, regulations, and district policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the bus is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops in a timely manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining order and discipline as needed.
- Assist students, including helping them board and exit the bus safely, securing seat belts or child safety restraints as required, and providing assistance to students with special needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents / guardians, school staff, and district personnel, providing courteous and professional service and addressing concerns or inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and colleagues.
- Complete required paperwork, such as daily logs, mileage reports, and incident reports, accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of bus operations and student counts.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills, safety knowledge, and customer service skills.
- Adhere to district policies and procedures regarding driver conduct, safety protocols, and student transportation, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
