Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, analysis, and project management, with a focus on developing creative solutions to complex engineering challenges. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of innovative products and systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Product Design and Development : Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies for new products or product enhancements, from concept to production, using CAD software and engineering principles.
  • Engineering Analysis : Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA), stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics analysis, to evaluate design performance and optimize product functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Prototyping and Testing : Build prototypes, conduct performance testing, and evaluate prototype results to validate design concepts, identify design flaws or improvements, and iterate design iterations as necessary to meet project goals and requirements.
  • Material Selection and Specification : Evaluate material properties, characteristics, and suitability for specific applications, and specify appropriate materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes based on performance, cost, and other factors.
  • Design Documentation : Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and technical documentation to communicate design intent, requirements, and specifications to manufacturing teams and suppliers.
  • Project Management : Manage projects from initiation to completion, including defining project scope, setting timelines, allocating resources, tracking progress, and coordinating activities with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and successful project outcomes.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting : Estimate project costs, develop project budgets, and monitor project expenses to ensure adherence to budget constraints and cost targets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and industry regulations (e.g., ASME, ISO, ANSI) applicable to mechanical designs, and work closely with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary certifications and approvals.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements, design optimizations, and cost-saving initiatives, and implement changes to enhance product performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical designs with other system components, resolve design conflicts, and achieve project objectives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management, clients, and suppliers, to provide project updates, address concerns, and solicit feedback throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • years of experience working as a mechanical engineer in product development, design engineering, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB, COMSOL).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining techniques, and fabrication methods, and ability to design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment, to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
