What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Technician position at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc.?
Status: Part Time Hourly FLSA classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Position: A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides intensive, individualized mental health interventions and support services to children and adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses, as well as their families, in various community-based settings. These settings can include homes, schools, camps, daycares, and other community environments.
Supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, the BHT is an integral part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, working to implement specific treatment goals. The primary aim is to deliver effective clinical interventions and supportive services, helping children and adolescents function to the best of their abilities in the least restrictive environments.
Qualifications/Requirements: Must meet one of the following:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40 hours of training OR
- Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services OR
- Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization OR
- Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
Reimbursement based on education and experience.
Bi-Lingual/Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.
Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage.
