Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. a national non-profit is seeking a friendly and dedicated Mentor to join our team. As a mentor you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding young individuals, empowering them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Status: Part-Time Hourly
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Position: This hourly, part-time position serves as a positive role model, offering guidance, support, and encouragement to young individuals and their families throughout Burlington County, building meaningful relationships, the Mentor helps youths overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their personal and academic goals.
Applicants must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as positive role models for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
- Initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy service for assigned participants and their families.
- Develop service plans using a strength-based approach and the wraparound model.
- Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to young individuals and their families.
- Act as a supportive and dependable role model, foster trust and open communication.
- Maintain documentation of mentoring activities and track progress.
Availability: Flexible schedule during the day, evenings, and some weekends.
Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in community work and familiarity with community resources
- Experience working with at-risk youth in a mentoring or educational capacity a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage is required.
- Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
