What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Manager position at Youth Arts: Unlocked?
Position Summary: Serving justice involved youth by providing performing, visual arts, spoken word, theatre and yoga workshops, the Grants Manager will be responsible for the management of full grant management cycle from pre to post grant award. This includes managing the full proposal and grant life cycle process, such as grant writing, award monitoring, post award support to ensure compliance and analyzing and reporting grant financial data.
Responsibilities: General Administration
Specific Duties:
· Supports organization’s mission and vision by emphasizing mission impact through compelling writing, and programmatic outcomes.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director and organization’s teaching artists to build a highly inclusive culture where Youth Arts: Unlocked can thrive and represent juvenile justice-involved youth affiliated with a criminal justice system.
· Understands and is able to comply with the employment policies and procedures as defined by Youth Arts: Unlocked.
Responsibilities: Grants Management
Specific Duties:
· Effectively write compelling grant proposals reflective of the need of Youth Arts: Unlocked programs and its mission impact.
· Attend grant required webinars.
· Meeting all deadlines for submission and response.
· Ensuring compliance with all regulations and reporting requirements.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
· Provide additional reports and public communication as requested.
Responsibilities: Prospect Research
Specific Duties:
· Monitor philanthropic trends and utilize this knowledge to enhance grant strategies and success.
· Research and identify strategic funding opportunities that align with Youth Arts: Unlocked mission.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration/non-profit management, human service field with focus of program design/macro level practices or equivalent experience; two (2) years of grant writing experience for a non-profit organization.
o A strong understanding of the types of grants that support youth and the arts whether they are government, private, or corporate is preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey information effectively, providing others with a clear understanding of information.
· Maintain the confidentiality of youth and organization information.
· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop systems and processes.
· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
· Must be available during traditional business hours Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm to hold meetings/discussions with Executive Director; however, work responsibilities may be completed during nontraditional hours.
· Obtain clearances from a criminal background check and through the Department of Health & Human Services central registry check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
