Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Gym/Health Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will design and implement adaptive physical education and health programs tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach engaging physical education and health lessons that accommodate all students.
- Modify activities to meet the physical and cognitive abilities of each student.
- Promote health, wellness, and fitness in a safe and encouraging environment.
- Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and families to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and progress.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and state education standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in Physical Education and/or Health.
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
