Job Summary:
The Allied Therapist provides specialized therapeutic services, utilizing creative and expressive modalities such as art, dance/movement, or music therapy, to support the emotional and psychological well-being of clients. This role involves facilitating group sessions aimed at promoting personal growth, self-expression, and coping skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group sessions using specific allied therapeutic techniques (e.g., art therapy, dance/movement therapy, music therapy) to address emotional and behavioral needs.
- Assess clients' strengths and challenges, document client progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as required.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in allied therapies to continually enhance service delivery.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice as established by relevant professional organizations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in the specific allied modality (e.g., art, dance/movement, music) with the ability to apply techniques effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and agree to submit to a check of criminal background, the central registry, the child abuse registry, drug testing, and physical as applicable. Must be willing to submit to these requirements annually where applicable
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in art therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Music Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification or licensure in the specific therapeutic modality as required by state regulations.
- Previous experience of providing allied therapeutic services in clinical or community settings is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in physical activities relevant to therapeutic modality (e.g., movement exercises, handling art materials, playing musical instruments).
- Capacity to observe and interpret clients' nonverbal cues and behaviors accurately.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
