What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (weekends 7a-3p) position at Youth Consultation Service?
Muller IRTS (Intensive Residential Treatment Service Unit) - Provides a secure, safe therapeutic environment for boys and girls ages 11-13 with severe impairment of social functioning.
We are seeking weekends 7a-3p
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise, organize, and support recreational and/or socialization activities
- Play an active role in leading the milieu staff through youth’s structured routine while collaborating with youth’s case manager, clinician, and prescriber
- Engage and interact with youth based on behavioral intervention plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment
- Observing, documenting, and acknowledging positive behaviors
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor level degree in a related social service field (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health etc.), Psychology preferred. Preference to those interested in enrolling in an MSW program, to achieve growth within the agency.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Muller IRTS is a program of Youth Consultation Service (YCS), which is a behavioral health and social services agency that has been caring for at risk children and families since 1918 in therapeutic residences, special education schools, in-home and in-community programs throughout NJ.

Experience:
- Group home or Residential facility: 1 year (Preferred)
- Working as a peer counselor, youth group or mentor/tutor: 1 year (Required)
- Working with youth in a group or behavioral setting: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
