Shift Supervisor
To be a key member of the program team participating in the care, behavioral intervention and support of at-risk youth. Share responsibility for all aspects of client supervision, daily programming, and supervision of direct care staff. Implement program goals and behavioral interventions as set by Sr. Program Director/Program Director and agency procedures. Provide documentation to support program participation. This position works in collaboration with DCF, community providers, and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift - Sunday - Thursday 3PM - 11PM.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities during an assigned shift.
- Review/supervise implementation of daily activity schedules.
- Supervise/assign duties to program staff and evaluate job performance.
- Facilitate in-house groups and related activities.
- Maintain attendance and other records regarding staff and clients.
- Monitor interactions among staff and clients.
- Assist in staff training and development.
- Participate in a shared rotation of on-call responsibilities for the program.
- Prepare and submit written reports regarding clients and various aspects of the program.
- Assist in direct care duties when necessary.
- Assist in cleaning, cooking, and life skills activities (i.e. job searches).
- Provide individualized crisis intervention and assist clients and staff in problem solving.
- Implement and adhere to program/agency policies, procedures and programming.
- Contact community resources as needed.
- Monitor behavioral reward system established by program director.
- Maintain close daily communication with the program director regarding the operation of the program.
- Support the spiritual and cultural diversity of clients.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of recreational, treatment, vocational, educational, religious/spiritual, and cultural opportunities to enhance the program and each individual youth.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervises staff on appropriate shift; evaluates job performance; recommends discipline to program director when appropriate.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years experience working with youth with significant behavioral health issues.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
Computer literate.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to pass the Department of Children & Families’ Medication Administration course.
Ability to effectively administer petty cash for program operations.
REASONING ABILITIES:
Ability to make sound decisions in times of crisis.
Ability to work within a chain of command structure.
Ability to work collaboratively with service provision team.
Ability to understand role differentiation between staff and client.
Ability to use effective time management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION, and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
First Aid/CPR Certification
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification
DCF Medication Administration Certification
A valid state of Connecticut Driver’s License
Maintain a clear driving record
Maintain a clear criminal record
Maintain a clear DCF abuse and neglect record
Annual TB screening

Salary : $23
