Use your passion for working with children to provide a safe place to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. As a member of the YDC family, you will :
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Have earned a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preference given :
o Bachelors degree or higher in a child-related field
o Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
o Must obtain MiSAYD Certification or Credential
Must have 480 hours of experience working as a caregiver in a program serving school-age children that meets
the requirements of State Licensing.
Have completed 15 clock hours, 1 semester hour, or 1.5 CEUs of documented school-age training.
Must possess a valid Michigan Drivers License
Current first Aid / CPR Certification (or within 3 months of employment)
At least one year experience working with youth in a formal or informal setting
Strong Math and English skills (K-12).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Knowledge of innovative instructional delivery techniques.
Demonstrated ability to lead / guide staff and youth participants effectively
Maintain a high level of communication
Must have reliable transportation to and from the program site.
Must be able to travel among our centers when needed
Must possess an optimistic, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality
Highly recommended to be able to teach a specific skill to small groups, which includes but is not limited to :
performing arts, visual arts, sports, speaking a foreign language,cooking, photography, robotics etc.
