We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Counselor to join our summer camp team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers. This role involves mentoring and guiding youth, facilitating activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate programs and activities that promote personal growth and teamwork.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture, encouraging campers to build friendships and develop social skills.
- Serve as a role model, providing guidance and support to campers in their daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to address any concerns or needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized camp environment.
- Participate in staff training and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with youth in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor activities and a passion for youth development.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
