YES’ mission is to serve homeless and at-risk youth by providing critically-needed resources which empower them to become self-sufficient. YES provides these resources to youth experiencing homelessness through trauma-informed support, develops leadership and employment readiness of youth and partners with youth to advocate for systems of change.
Compensation: $60,000 - $76,000 annually - Dependent on licensure and experience

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Day to Day
The Mental Health Practitioner will be at the forefront of counseling, coaching, and assisting YES youth by addressing issues affecting personal mental wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Assess youth needs and strengths accurately.
- Provide counseling services through various communication methods.
- Develop, update, and review youth goals and outcomes.
- Implement culturally competent counseling modalities.
- Tailor services for optimal youth outcomes.
- Refer youth to specialized or long-term care when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary setting and coordinate care internally and externally.
- Communicate consistently with Supervisor/Manager on cases and program improvement.
- Provide critical incident/crisis intervention upon request.
Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to assess and work with clients with mental health issues, through education, training, and experience.
- At least one year of post-master’s clinical experience in mental health, counseling/therapy, and/or substance use/abuse treatment preferred.
Education:
- Master's Degree required in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field.
- Required: State licensure as a Nebraska Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP or LMHP).
- Additional certifications in mental health are preferred but not required, including LIMHP, LADC, CMFT, and reciprocal licenses in other states.
