Job Description: The goal and objectives of YES Supervised Visitation Program is to maintain a safe, neutral, and supportive environment for child victims of crime and non-offending parents in accessing trauma- informed, comprehensive supervised visitation services and referrals to outside community resources. The visitation program serves child victims of crime through referrals from both the Siskiyou County Superior Court and the Karuk Tribal Court. This grant-funded position will work with the Supervised Visitation Program Manager in providing a safe, accessible place for children to meet with their non-custodial parents or family members that is free of conflict and abuse.
Position: Visitation Facilitator - Yreka, CA
Reports to: Program Manager
Hours: Full-time (approx. 32 hours per week) Varies, some evening and weekend work required. Flexible availability is a must.
Wage: $20.00/hour
Description:This grant-funded position will work with the Supervised Visitation Program Manager in providing a safe, neutral, accessible place for children to meet with their non-custodial parents or family members that is free of conflict or abuse.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of children who have been exposed to domestic violence, abuse, neglect, parental drug use or other forms of trauma by:
- Supervising visits between children and non-custodial parents, including intervention and redirection as necessary
- Documenting all child and family interaction
- Reporting visit activities to Supervised Visitation Program Manager
- Referring custodial and non-custodial parents to community resources as appropriate
- Coordinating visitation with custodial and non-custodial parents through phone text or email
- Maintaining program and client files
- Maintaining clean visitation spaces
- Other duties as needed and outlined by the Supervised Visitation Program Manager or Executive Director
- Complete ongoing training including but not limited to supervised visitation, crisis prevention, and trauma-informed care
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass background check
- Possession of valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable vehicle for travel
- Knowledge of principles of trauma
- Experience supervising children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, including data entry, and familiarity with Google Doc
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to keep all client information confidential
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Ability to organize and prioritize various tasks
- Agree to test for COVID-19 per the agency’s current policies with tests provided by the agency and remain in compliance with state, federal, agency and Housing Program COVID-19 regulations.
