What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Facilitator/Tutor position at Youth Enrichment Services?
Overview
We have an opening in our Hartford site for a Classroom Facilitator/Tutor. Your primary role will be to ensure a smooth and interactive online learning experience for our students. You will be the bridge between the students and the digital curriculum, enhancing engagement and ensuring learning objectives are met. This is not a subject matter expert although former/retired teachers make excellent candidates.
Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:15 AM – 11:30 AM, and 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate interactive online learning sessions, encouraging student participation and engagement.
- Provide both online and pencil and paper remediation for GED students.
- Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting respect among learners.
- Ensure all learners are engaged, motivated, and on track.
- Monitor student progress, providing feedback and addressing concerns promptly.
- Provide regular updates to case manager on student progress
- Provide basic technical support to learners, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the session.
- Enforce program policies concerning student behavior, dress, cell phone usage, etc.
- Establish and maintain classroom discipline and promptly report any issues to the case manager.
Requirements and Skills
- Experience in education, training, or a related field, Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Geneva County resident preferred.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues promptly.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Passion for education and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.22 per hour
Expected hours: 26 per week
