Role and Responsibilities
As an Education Specialist at YOUTH FOR TOMORROW NEW LIFE CENTER INC, you will be responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that fosters the academic and personal growth of our students. Your primary duties will include teaching required material to students using various instructional strategies, materials, and technology. You will also plan instruction to meet individual and group needs, assess student progress through pre and post assessments, and maintain accurate records. Additionally, you will provide healthy and appropriate role modeling, work closely with the School Principal and other staff members to ensure the Education program remains successful, and keep fellow Teachers, Residential staff, Therapists, and Case Managers informed of student's progress.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on secondary education, certification by the Virginia State Department of Education, and knowledge in the field of instruction. You should also have skills and abilities to positively interact with students, maintain discipline, and promote a positive learning environment. Furthermore, you must be able to maintain all required documentation and effectively challenge, nurture and develop the educational abilities of at-risk youth in a residential setting.
