Key Responsibilities:
- Establish genuine relationships with mentees based on trust, respect, and empathy.
- Provide guidance and training in various skills to foster personal growth and development.
- Regularly meet with small groups or one-on-one, depending on availability, to offer support and mentorship.
- Participate in mandatory trainings, supervision meetings, and events as required by the organization.
- Collaborate with the Mentor Coordinator for guidance and support in emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with children and adolescents, maintaining open and non-judgmental dialogue.
- Support the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards.
- Attend all required training sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A high school diploma and 2-3 years of relevant experience are necessary for this position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong relationships with mentees.
- Ability to establish equal responsibility and respect in relationships is crucial for success in this role.
- Practical problem-solving skills and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds are necessary for effective mentoring.
- Passing FBI/CPS background checks, having current negative TB screening, and being seven years older than your audience are mandatory requirements.
