What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis House Counselor position at Youth Haven Services?
Youth Haven Services crisis stabilization program is growing, and we currently opening a new site in Forsyth County, NC. We are seeking three Lead House Counselors, one for each shift to provide direct care and rehabilitative services for clients in the crisis stabilization residential program. The Lead House Counselor (AP) would act as a leader and mentor for co-house counselors. Additionally, the Lead House Counselor (AP) may need to facilitate client intakes on shift, as needed. This site will serve DSS clients that do not have placements. The main function of the home will be to provide a safe therapeutic environment while a long-term placement can be secured. Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree
Work experience: A minimum of two (2) years of documented clinical experience working with the population served is required (youth/adolescence with mental health diagnosis - this excludes IDD/ASD populations).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of community resources; communication skills (written and verbal); background/training/experience, competencies in the use of a personal computer (word processing/excel), electronic health records, photocopier and fax machine; organizational abilities; prioritization skills; flexibility; ability to multitask; ability to develop productive relationships; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, ability to develop responsible decisions and exercise sound judgment. Takes direction well and demonstrates initiative. Ability to lead others and be a positive role model and mentor.
Travel Requirements: Service is delivered in residential setting.

Provide delivery of skill building activities such as independent living skills, socialization, adaptation and symptom monitoring / management skills. Provide effective and approved behavioral modification interventions.

Review client information and person-centered plans to understand needs, limitations, strengths and goals of individuals served. Be a positive Role model and mentor for co-house counselors at all times.

3.
Complete documentation [on client progress] as outlined by program guidelines as needed on a timely basis. Maintain all other records and complete paperwork as required. Provide supervision to co-house counselors if needed / approved.

Facilitate effective, efficient and quality intakes for clients coming in on second shift.
