Summary
The Youth Life Center in Riverdale, Georgia, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Paraprofessional to join our dynamic team and contribute to the growth and development of the youth participating in our programs. As a Part-Time Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and educational content that empowers young individuals to reach their full potential.
Duties
Key Responsibilities :
Curriculum Development :
Collaborate with the program coordinator and fellow educators to design age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans.
Adapt instructional materials to meet the unique needs and interests of the youth participants.
Instruction :
Deliver high-quality, interactive, and engaging lessons to youth, ensuring that content is both educational and fun.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student participation and active learning.
Provide individualized support and guidance to students who may require additional assistance.
Assessments and Progress Monitoring :
Conduct regular assessments to gauge student progress and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behavioral observations.
Communicate progress reports to program coordinators and parents / guardians as necessary.
Classroom Management :
Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations that promote a safe and respectful environment.
Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement appropriate disciplinary measures when needed.
Mentorship and Support :
Serve as a positive role model for youth, promoting values such as respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
Offer guidance and support to help students develop life skills, character, and self-confidence.
Program Enhancement :
Contribute ideas and feedback for program improvement and expansion.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- Teaching experience in an educational or youth development setting is a plus.
- Passion for working with youth and a commitment to their personal and educational growth.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
- Familiarity with educational technology and resources.
