Key Responsibilities:
Position is responsible for direct or indirect supervision of much of the facility staff, along with shared management responsibilities for the fiscal, personnel, and program administration of the facility. Also serves as Facility Administrator designee when the Facility Administrator is absent.
- Assist the FA to direct program/facility service delivery to maintain safety for youth and staff, ensure maintenance of therapeutic environment consistent with YOI policies, practices, and standards as well as those of local and state contractual agreements.
- Ensure program’s therapeutic model advances the emotional stability, education, and overall positive development of youth in the program.
- Follow established procedures to ensure facility is in compliance and adheres to local, state and federal health, fire and safety codes and requirements.
- Assists the FA with the facility’s performance and quality improvement initiatives and processes.
- Assist with facility efforts to maintain licensure, contract, and accreditation standards.
- Report any issues as required by YOI and customer requirements.
- Assist the FA to recruit, interview and hire all facility staff; Operate within all YOI HR policies.
- Appropriately follows and uses Company procedures in support of necessary business functions such as purchasing, contracting, accounting, and budgeting.
Other Duties Include:
- Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
- Participate in training and development activities as required.
- Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
- Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines.
- Assist FA to recruit, develop and lead the local advisory council ensuring proactive participation and engagement of council members.
- Develop positive relationships with local community partners to enhance community resources and relations.
- Develop and expand base of program volunteers from within the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences required. Master’s degree in human services field preferred.
- Experience: Three years’ experience working with youth and families at risk required. Two years’ supervision experience required. Two years’ experience administering a residential or community-based program preferred.
- Skills: Must be able to manage for results, work collaboratively, serve as a change agent, develop, and coach staff, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and make quality, timely decisions. Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds and provide necessary physical services to clients. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law. Must be able to transport clients.
- Other: Must be able to work long and/or irregular hours and capable of responding to any emergencies arising regardless of hour or day. Must have an appropriate and valid driver license. Must meet customer required criminal background requirements.
