What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Care Worker (Part-Time) position at Youth Outreach Services?
Department : Child Welfare
Location : Bellwood
Schedule : (Part-Time) Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 12 A.M - 8 A.M.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the House Manager, the Youth Care Worker assists adolescent wards of the state with preparing for adulthood by providing counseling, employment assistance, and educational / life skills training. A Youth Care Worker refers residents for services, as needed; collaborate with case managers in reviewing and planning individual service plans; and provide transportation, as needed.
Knowledgeable of DCFS policies, procedures, and regulations is an asset.
Qualifications :
- Associates degree or at least 60 hours of college credits
- One year's experience working with high-risk adolescents, preferably in a residential setting
- 3 year's experience working with youths at risk without college degree
- Valid driver's license
- Clear driving record
- Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be needed)
