Youth Services Network is a community based agency located in Rockford, Illinois that provides therapy and supportive services to children and families that have experienced trauma.
The mission of Youth Services Network is to develop, provide and coordinate services to improve the physical, psychological and social well-being of youth and families. All services are trauma-informed, strength based and provided in the community.
Youth Services Network is a state licensed child welfare agency that has been in existence since 1982.
We are looking for a Creative and Team-Oriented, Bachelor’s level Youth Support Specialist to join our flexible, rewarding and collaborative team.
Youth Support Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients.
- Provide assistance to the IPS team by meeting regularly with clients to offer case management, mentorship, skills development, and engagement in educational and recreational activities.
- Assist the Intake Coordinator with processing referrals.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of client progress.
- Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
- Refers clients to community resources or outside agencies when necessary.
- Transports clients to community activities and/or appointments within Boone, McHenry, and Winnebago counties.
- Maintains thorough records of client meetings.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support clients.
- Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
Youth Support Specialist Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or human service related field
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly
- Detail oriented
- Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy
- Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
· Knowledge of Trauma informed practices
