Description
Job Summary: This employee will provide laundry services in compliance with health and sanitation standards. Under direction of the facility director, this employee is responsible for planning, organizing, and labeling laundry services for the facility including purchasing supplies, record keeping and inventory control. This employee will ensure that all work and storage areas meet health and sanitation standards. This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations, and generally accepted practices
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and transfer laundry to the laundry area
- Sort and wash linens and garments
- Fold, count, sort, and stack laundered items
- Return laundry to storage area
- Insure adequate supply of detergent and related laundry supplies
- Maintain laundry and storage areas in a neat, sanitary and safe manner
- Maintain inventory of linen and clothing

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, file, and prioritize a work load
- Ability to work independently and effectively to prioritize workload
- Excellent reading comprehension skills
- Ability to be a team player and work with diverse populations.
Education and Experience:
Requires Highschool Diploma/G.E.D.; applicable experience in the operation of equipment with the job. Must have valid driver’s license
