As a Guidance Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' academic, career, and personal/social development. Your responsibility is to provide comprehensive counseling services that ensure students are prepared to succeed in school and beyond, adhering to Rhode Island's requirements for school counselors.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students regarding academic planning and course selection.
- Assist students in developing effective study habits and strategies for academic success.
- Monitor and support students' academic progress and implement intervention strategies as needed.
- Guide students in exploring career interests and developing post-secondary plans.
- Coordinate career exploration activities, such as job shadowing, internships, and career fairs.
- Assist students with college applications, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid processes.
- Provide individual and group counseling to address personal, social, and emotional issues.
- Implement programs and workshops to promote social and emotional learning (SEL).
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students' overall well-being.
- Respond to and provide support during student crises, including mental health emergencies.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention plans and refer students to external resources as necessary.
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement student intervention strategies.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to support students' needs.
- Conduct professional development sessions for staff on student support strategies and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to student support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school and regulatory agencies.
