Become a vital part of the Wellness Department at Youville Place as a Resident Care Assistant in the Traditional Assisted Living area.
In this role, you will provide exceptional care and support to residents based on their individualized service plans. Your compassionate approach and keen attention to detail will make a difference in residents' lives, helping them engage, remain active, and enjoy their time at Youville Place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents according to their individual service plans, including escorting to appointments and helping with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Deliver services as directed and assigned, adhering to safety, health, and department-specific policies.
- Provide medication reminders to residents participating in the Self-Administered Medication Management Program (SAMM).
- Communicate and document any changes in resident behavior, cognitive status, or health concerns to the Director of Wellness or designee.
- Respond effectively to emergencies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuing education as required by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
- Uphold environmental sustainability and promote a healthier work environment by conserving resources and following safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate understanding of the rights and needs of older adults.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., as well as sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, push, and pull as needed.
- One year of experience caring for older adults.
- Training in the needs of older adults; certification in Massachusetts as either a nursing assistant or home health aide.
- Strong communication skills in English, including listening, comprehension, and speaking ability.
