Job Description:
We are seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator to support the operations of the Medical Staff Services department. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and completion of essential functions including credentialing, privileging, proctorship, and orientation for medical staff members, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. You will serve as a key resource for the Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA), medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credentialing & Privileging: Compile credentialing, privileging, and peer review actions for the Board of Directors’ Quality Committee.
- Coordination & Documentation: Act as a resource and assist department chairpersons and committee members with obtaining information required for reviewing applications.
- Research & Confidentiality: Plan, organize, and direct confidential research for initial appointees and recredentialing/reappointment (physicians, dentists, AHPs).
- Orientation: Develop and provide oversight for the orientation program for new appointees (physicians, dentists, AHPs).
- Proctorship Review: Maintain and update proctorship review forms, files, and processes to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other agency regulations.
- Policy & Document Management: Assist in the maintenance and revision of bylaws and documents in coordination with the VPMA and Bylaws Committee.
- Survey & Compliance: Respond to Joint Commission and other surveys, coordinating completion, and assisting in the development of action plans when necessary.
- Tracking & Reporting: Utilize the MIDAS database effectively for tracking, reporting, and various processes.
- Collaboration & Support: Provide support for ongoing projects and initiatives as requested by the VPMA, medical staff, and other departments.
- Other Duties: Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 1 years in healthcare
- 1 years of experience in Medical Staff Services
- 1 years of experience in regulatory compliance and guidelines
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in Healthcare (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 2 years in healthcare
- 2 years of experience in Medical Staff Services
- 2 years of experience with regulatory guidelines
- Technical Knowledge:
- Experience with Echo Credentialing (credentialing software) or Healthstream (strongly preferred)
- Previous experience in a Joint Commission or NCQA accredited facility (strongly preferred)
- Certifications:
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) (strongly preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA).
Orientation & Scheduling:
- Orientation Period: 2 weeks minimum
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekend & Holiday Expectations: No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Time Off: Request for time off (RTO) will require manager approval

Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,600.00 per week
