Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds and overall health status.
- Develop individualized care plans based on diagnostic evaluations and patient needs.
- Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement, and ostomy care.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation and communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care practices.
Requirements
- Current nursing license with a focus on acute care settings.
- Experience in ICU or similar high-acuity environments preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with tube feeding protocols and specimen collection processing.
- Strong understanding of family planning concepts as they relate to patient education.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
