- Administering FEHB, FEGLI and TSP benefits
- Computation of SCDs
- Military Deposits
- New Employee Orientation presentations for Benefits
- Separation benefits counseling
- Maintaining hard copy files and scanning and uploading into the appropriate systems, as applicable
- Ability to accurately and thoroughly analyze and respond to questions from employees about their federal employee benefits and be able to advise new, current and separating employees about their benefits
- Ability to correctly certify all official forms submitted by new, current, and separating employees that establish elections or changes to their federal health and life insurance and thrift savings plan benefits
- Skill in processing employee benefits and payroll forms and entering appropriate data into a human resources information database
- Ability to conduct clear and concise presentations of detailed information to audiences with varying levels of exposure to federal benefits programs
- Knowledge of federal personnel rules and regulations that apply to determining creditable service and establishing service computation dates (SCDs) for: leave accrual, retirement, reduction-in-force, and thrift savings plan
- Knowledge of eOPF/OPF maintenance requirements as described in the Federal Personnel Recordkeeping Guide
- At least 4 years of federal HR experience, at least 2 of which must be specialized experience in the area in which work is to be performed.
- Service Now experience highly preferred
