The Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is seeking an UI/UX Business Analyst with minimum 5 years’ experience to work with an existing software development team in an agile/scrum environment. The candidate will review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to solutions under development. Duties will include functional and non-functional specifications, uses cases and system design specifications, conducting effective joint applications development and brainstorming sessions, and interviewing subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather requirements. Previous experience in the elections environment highly desired.
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a business systems analyst for medium to large projects
- Able to communicate and collaborate with agile delivery teams and other technical staff, business partners and vendors.
- Able to accurately define and capture project requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Able to document business processes and data flow diagrams.
- Able to write UAT test scripts from use cases and proficient in UAT testing.
- Able to identify and document project risks and actions to mitigate risks.
- Able to track requirements throughout lifecycle of SDLC cycle
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, VISIO, Draw.io, ADO, JIRA and Confluence
- Analytical and able to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Preferred certifications include Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe certifications. (Not required by highly desired)
- Election experience strongly preferred (Not required by highly desired)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
