Description
The Summer Enrichment Lead Teacher will be responsible for the day to day operation, planning, scheduling, and programming for Summer Enrichment services for an assigned group. Program target populations range from kindergarten through sixth grade and middle school age participants. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for working with the Site Supervisor in scheduling, supervising, and evaluating volunteers in order to help make the experience worthwhile, safe, and educational for the volunteers, and participants. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Formulate, communicate and implement intervention strategies. 2. Assess youth needs and ensure planning efficiently addresses those needs. 3. Conceptualize interests of participants and families. 4. Maintain control of participants in individual and group settings. 5. Lead and participate in any youth recreational activities. 6. Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Summer Enrichment program in assigned classroom at designated site. 7. Performs teaching duties on a daily basis providing leadership to other Summer Enrichment staff. 8. Works assigned hours 9. Directly supervises children in the assigned group and coordinates with community resources scheduled to provide recreational and educational activities for participants. 10. Meets with supervisor weekly for guidance and plan for each group. 11. Plans and implements the activities for based on summer theme and curriculum. turns then into the Site Supervisor one week prior to use. 12. Greets parents with courtesy, fields questions. 13. Insures that children check in and check out of the program and that only authorized parents/guardians pick up children. 14. Completes incident reports as necessary. 15. Observes discipline policy, records participant behavior. 16. Maintains a clean facility, equipment, and supplies. 17. Provides summer programming as scheduled. 18. Administers assessments to participating children. 19. Maintains good working relationships with school personnel, janitors, and parents. 20. Records behavior and participation of each child in the program and helps to evaluate progress. 21. Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. 22. Attends program staff meetings and trainings. 23. Maintains site specific records. 24. Maintain program quality standards.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE Must be trained in CPR/First Aid. Experience in child development, education, or related field required. PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s or Associate of Arts degree in child development, education, or related field preferred. Experience as a teacher, teaching assistant or education student preferred.
