Job Title: Director of Human Resources
Reports to: Chief of Staff / Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources (HR) will lead and oversee all aspects of the HR function for a dynamic wealth management and insurance company. This role will focus on developing and executing HR strategies that support business objectives, enhance employee engagement, and foster a positive workplace culture. The Director will ensure compliance with industry regulations, while optimizing talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, and development programs within the highly regulated financial services and insurance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's business goals in wealth management and insurance.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, providing HR insights specific to the financial services and insurance industries.
  • Ensure HR policies comply with both general employment laws and specific financial services regulations.
  • Analyze HR metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement in a highly competitive, regulated market.
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention:
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier professionals with financial and insurance industry expertise.
  • Develop retention programs, including competitive compensation structures and career development opportunities within wealth management and insurance.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify critical skills needed for success in financial services and insurance roles.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, ensuring issues are resolved within the context of industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, ethical conduct, and compliance in line with wealth management and insurance best practices.
  • Oversee conflict resolution, performance management, and terminations, ensuring regulatory compliance in these processes.
  • Compensation & Benefits:
  • Oversee the development and administration of competitive compensation packages, including industry-specific bonuses and commission structures.
  • Ensure the benefits program is aligned with industry trends and enhances employee retention.
  • Manage performance evaluation processes, ensuring merit increases and promotions reflect both individual and industry-specific achievements.
  • Training & Development:
  • Develop and implement training programs tailored to the financial and insurance sectors, with a focus on compliance, client relationship management, and leadership.
  • Foster professional development opportunities to support employee growth in industry-relevant certifications and skills.
  • Ensure compliance training is up to date, particularly in regulatory areas affecting wealth management and insurance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and specific industry regulations governing financial services and insurance (e.g., FINRA, SEC, and insurance regulations).
  • Oversee workplace safety, employee conduct standards, and other risk management initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into complaints, harassment, or discrimination with a focus on adherence to both general employment law and industry-specific ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3 years of progressive HR experience, with leadership role within financial services, insurance, or wealth management. (preferred)
  • Experience in accounts payable or finance
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and financial services industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, insurance laws).
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, talent management, and organizational development within a regulated industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
