Job Description
The County of Yuba is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join the Yuba County Probation Department. The successful candidate will perform initial assessments, assist in developing counseling/treatment plans, and provide counseling/therapy services to individuals or groups struggling with substance abuse.
This position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to establish effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and the community. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of substance abuse treatment goals and objectives, as well as experience working with diverse populations.
The Substance Abuse Counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop case treatment plans, conduct individual and group sessions, and provide support to clients. This role also involves working with juvenile and adult clients, and may require evening sessions.
