What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor - Special Assignment position at Yucaipa-Calimesa Jt. Unified?
Under the direction of the Executive Director - Student Services (or designee), assumes responsibility for leadership in all phases of counseling and guidance services throughout the District, with an emphasis on student mental health, wellness, and engagement; provides informational and support services to students, teachers, and families to assist the student in making appropriate decisions relative to the student’s academic, postsecondary, career, and social emotional development; and supervises student wellness centers and assigned staff at various sites across the District. Assists in other school and District programs as necessary. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, including all courses needed to meet the credential requirements of the position. Master’s degree or its equivalent is preferred.
Experience Required: Three (3) years or more of successful experience as a school counselor, or comparable private sector experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Testing Required: Valid California Class C driver's license and evidence of insurability, TB test clearance, pre-employment physical and drug testing clearance, Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance; possession at time of employment of a California Pupil Personnel Services credential with any of the following authorizations: School Social Work, School Psychology, or School Counselor.
Salary : $73,824 - $158,392
