Job Title: Accounting Technician
Supervisor: Business Office
Location: District Office, Fairbanks
Authorized Hours: 7.5 hours per day, M-F

General Responsibilities
Provide accounting support to the Raven Homeschool Program and assist with departmental accounting and business functions.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma required.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years working experience in accounting operations and business functions. Experience in school governmental fund accounting is preferred.
Skills:
Experience with computerized accounting software and working knowledge of office machines, computers and email applications preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word applications required.
Example of Duties
1. Create and maintain filing systems for Raven reimbursement files and payment records.
2. Print, review, enter and process Raven family reimbursements. Ensure accuracy and see that payment guidelines and schedules are met.
3. Notify Raven teachers and admins regarding reimbursement discrepancies and follow up with on hold reimbursements.
4. Process Raven family computer reimbursement payments.
5. Review and process internal payments and maintain records.
6. Create and maintain accounting system records for Raven students and families including vendors, direct deposit authorizations, addresses, and account codes.
7. Assist with entering budgets for student enrollment, managing the MIFI program database and processing unexpended funds budget journal entries.
8. Cross train and provide backup to the Accounts Payable Technician as needed.

Unusual Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal office setting. There are no unusual demands of the position. Position is mostly sedentary with extended periods sitting at desk/computer.

Annual written evaluation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.93 - $24.53 per hour
