Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation. As a rural health specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of people in southwest Alaska.
The successful candidate will provide full-time physical therapy services to a diverse population of clients from pediatric to geriatric, across a wide spectrum of diagnoses and therapy needs. This includes but is not limited to orthopedics, neurology, vestibular, and wound care. The position involves village travel, inpatient and outpatient care, home care, and community outreach.
To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's degree from an Accredited program in Physical Therapy and be licensed in good standing in Alaska as a Physical Therapist. Hospital-based experience is also helpful.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other medical staff as part of a collaborative team
- Able to participate in special committees as appropriate, and serve as a professional representative of the physical therapy department and profession at all times
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, medical staff, managers, clients, and the general public
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of a different culture who may or may not speak English
