PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Material Handling Laborer is responsible for performing physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loading, unloading and delivery of furnishings and appliances to customers.
- Receive furnishings into an organization and verify furnishings against service orders to ensure the accuracy of the delivery.
- Responsible for the inventory shipments and notating any discrepancies.
- Routing furnishings to storage location
- Assisting Appliance Technician in repairs and delivery
- Workers may use material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to bring furnishings to an appropriate location.
- Assisting in weekly forklift maintenance
- Cleaning and repairing furnishings
- Unloading furniture / appliances from shipping containers
- Ability to lift 75 Pounds
- Must be able to use the bar coding system
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- May be required to perform inventory of property
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. This position is directly tasked by the Warehouse Lead.
