Take a leadership role in managing and overseeing critical financial operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment within the KFC Canada brand. This role requires developing a deep understanding of financial systems, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Salary Range : $, to $, annually bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
We are a hybrid work environment, with employees required to be onsite days a week (Tue-Thur).
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the end-to-end monthly accounting close process for KFC Canada, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. This includes but is not limited to :
- ASC Revenue Recognition : Administer and analyze the amortization of deferred liabilities and incentive assets, as well as the billings and recording of franchise services expenses and revenue.
- GST / HST Compliance Management : Lead the monthly GST / HST filings and remittance processes, ensuring compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations. Proactively address any compliance issues and stay updated on tax legislation changes to maintain compliance.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis : Oversee the timely and accurate reporting of monthly sales, including the creation and recording of monthly sales accruals. Conduct in-depth analysis of aged receivables and drive effective collection strategies. Provide actionable insights to enhance the financial performance of the business.
- Strategic Partnership and Transactional Oversight : Collaborate closely with the KFC Canada Finance and Development teams to stay informed on new initiatives, transactions, and incentives. Partner with the Controller to ensure these are accounted for and documented in alignment with YUM policy and GAAP.
- Quarterly Sales Performance Reporting : Lead the preparation of quarterly Same Store Sales (SSS) reports, working in tandem with the KFC Canada Finance team to ensure reconciliation with internal analysis. Provide strategic insights based on these reports to support business decision-making.
- Financial Reconciliation and Review : Take ownership of performing comprehensive account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews. Clearly articulate and explain variances, ensuring that all discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner. Provide strategic recommendations based on reconciliation findings to improve financial controls.
- Other Responsibilities : Additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Control team.
