Job Summary

Under general supervision, assists self-represented litigants (SRL’s) as they access the court system for various cases; provides SRL’s with general information regarding family court processes, appropriate documents to be filed, and information needed for court hearings; assists the Law Library Program Manager and other court employees in meeting the needs of the community members as they access the justice system.
Nature of Work
(Illustrative Only) Assists and supports the Law Library Program Manager to plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate, update, and improve the SRL Program; provides one on one non-legal assistance to SRL’s in case preparation, filing of proper documents, and information with the goals of improving the knowledge and understanding of SRL’s and improving the timeliness of case processing; provides easy to understand checklist and resources to SRL participants to keep the cases progressing and ensure parties are prepared for court hearings; collects and enters data used for the improvement of case flow management, statistical reports, and case processing; track case progress, measure program success, and make recommendations to Court leadership for program improvement; maintains effective working relationships and acts as a liaison to a variety of agencies and personnel, including, but not limited to judges/magistrates, public, court staff, private attorneys, inmates, police, sheriff, probation officers, victims, and victim advocates; performs administrative support, including but not limited to screening calls, assisting with requests, maintaining inventory of supplies, organizing files and documents, and managing schedules; participates in pertinent committees and special assignments including services that improve public access to the courts for self-represented litigants; provides resources and referrals to parties as to available community resources; assists with the upkeep of the Law Library of the Superior Court of Yuma County; assists members of the public with the electronic filing of orders of protection requests; cover law library in the absence of law librarian; abides by the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; And two (2) years of experience in a court or legal setting with knowledge of court processes and procedures, preferably with experience in domestic relations and forms used in Yuma County Superior Court; OR, an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies; And four (4) years of experience in a court or legal setting with knowledge of court processes and procedures, preferably with experience in domestic relations and forms used in Yuma County Superior Court. OR, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training, which demonstrates/describes the ability to perform the duties of the position; Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; A valid Arizona State Driver’s License may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required.

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,500 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and PPO Plan B. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
