NATURE OF WORK
Under close supervision, performs a variety of entry-level office support work for the Clerk of Superior Court; scans documents, enters data and provides customer service within scope of authority and training.
Nature of Work
(Illustrative Only) Learns Superior Court procedures and applies training to perform assigned tasks in accordance with all quality standards and policies. May perform specialized functions within a work unit; not all incumbents perform all specified tasks; duties may vary according to job assignment and skill level; performs a variety of duties and tasks in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court; supports courtroom-related services and responsibilities; works at the public counter and other locations as assigned; learns policies and procedures for file creation and maintenance, data entry, issuing and accepting documents and forms, accepting and receipting monies and other specific Court duties and assignments; learns to process, issue, and record courts documents; learns to prepare and review a variety of court documents including notices, violations, payments, judgments, and dispositions; ; research computer data and case files; proofreads and edits documents; sorts, indexes, and files materials according to established procedures; checks records and documents for completeness and accuracy; files court and case material and retrieves information for use by the judge, staff, law enforcement agencies, attorneys and other authorized personnel; records judgments, rules, orders, and other judicial proceedings; assists customers with court questions and document processing procedures within scope of authority and training; files court/office material and retrieves files for authorized personnel; learns to record legal information and other judicial proceedings; responds to client inquiries at the counter, by telephone and in writing; and learns to perform research and coordination necessary to formulate an accurate response; assists in preparing periodic reports; assists with the flow of court/case related information from judges and staff to local, state and Federal agencies; schedules hearings according to statutes, rules and time standards; accepts and verifies records and documents, checking for clerical and mathematical accuracy and completeness, and processes for further action; assists in the collection, processing, and recording of receivables and other routine accounting tasks; accepts and receipts funds; copies files and records for internal and external use; creates and maintains case files and legal documents; scans documents into secure and non-secure data systems; searches files, records and other data sources for information and responds with the data needed; performs records maintenance tasks; cross trains in a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties; abides by the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Experience and Education
High School Education or GED Certificate; AND two (2) years of general clerical and computer experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved; ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State driver's license may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required; PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment and Court facilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, Federal rules and requirements; Superior Court policies and procedures; Superior Court in Yuma County- Rules of the Judicial Merit System and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; basic legal terminology and court functions; basic laws and regulations governing the release of information from court records; principles of record keeping, case files and records management; safe work practices and safety precautions in court environments; general office equipment and standard computer software applications.
Skills in: Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; working under pressure in a dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities; closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures; maintaining accurate records; preparing, filing, and distributing various types of legal documents; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public; operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software; communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability To: Maintain confidentiality and work under pressure in a dynamic environment with changing priorities; comply with Yuma County and Superior Court policies and procedures; enter and retrieve data from automated system; follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,500 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the “ Wellness Incentive” employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and PPO Plan B. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
