NATURE OF WORK 
Under general supervision, provides a variety of services in support of the Court’s Information Technology (IT) systems, databases, and department operations; diagnoses and repairs computers and peripherals; identifies operational issues, and recommends changes to improve operations.   
 
(Illustrative Only) Coordinates the operation and maintenance of assigned IT databases and software applications; manages the development and integration of application software and security solutions; plans and develops database solutions; monitors IT operations and recommends policies to assure data privacy, and the security of IT operations; creates local user accounts and user profiles for database system access and file sharing; monitors utilization trends and security procedures; manages user accounts, security and access rights; verifies functionality of inter-related databases and IT systems, and develops recommendations for improved functionality; sets up, maintains, diagnoses and repairs IT applications and equipment; reviews and verifies accuracy and validity of data entered into automation systems; performs regularly scheduled back-up operations; maintains code tables and related internal operating systems; oversees and monitors maintenance agreements; serves as liaison between the Court and state and regional justice system agencies and departments; attends meetings and provides input and information; identifies new and on-going training needs; presents orientation and training sessions; reviews and updates existing training materials as needed; writes and maintains automation-related policies and procedures and associated manuals; assesses, recommends, purchases and installs automation hardware and software; troubleshoots and repairs systems within scope of authority; calls for outside contract repair services as authorized; installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots problems related to hardware, software, and other equipment; may travel to different court departments to train employees and/or offer technical assistance; creates and manages databases, procedures, and documentation, including equipment inventory of utilized and spare equipment; assists in maintenance of website; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field AND two (2) years of IT system support and training experience, or closely related duties; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass extensive criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment and Court facilities.
Knowledge of: State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, and applicable federal rules and requirements; Yuma County and Superior Court policies and procedures; Superior Court in Yuma County- Rules of the Judicial Merit System and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; Legal terminology and court processes and procedures; Computer hardware and software systems planning, technical support, and training functions; Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) specialized software applications; data base organization, access, and retrieval techniques; basic research techniques, methods, and procedures; basic principles of case flow and records management.

 
Skills in: Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; working under pressure in a dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities; maintaining, configuring and testing relational database systems, network operating systems, and other applications unique to Superior Court; analyzing equipment and system malfunctions, troubleshooting computers and software applications, and determining effective solutions; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with Court employees, and representatives of regional justice agencies; effectively communicating in verbal and written forms; operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

Ability To: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, elected officials, staff, other agencies,  and the general public. and the general public; follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; manage and perform multiple priorities under stressful situations.
