What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Yuma County?
Under limited supervision performs professional public health services of considerable difficulty in planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned public health program (s).. This position is responsible for managing multiple funding sources, coordinating services, and ensuring that program goals align with public health objectives.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Education or closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in teaching or facilitating trainings, preferably in a public health or classroom setting. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. Requires successful completion of a background check.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess or have the ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge of: Public health principles and practices; health sciences including health maintenance, promotion and prevention; principles of health education and counseling; evidence-based prevention strategies related to youth development, prevention education or health promotion; principles of epidemiology; community assessment and resources; individual/community health assessment; planning; implementing and evaluating interventions and coordinating services; basic principles of budget monitoring, reporting, and record keeping.
Skill in: Speaking to clients of varying backgrounds; communicating complex ideas in clear, understandable terms; public speaking; using computers and software; communicating both verbally and in writing; conducting a variety of training programs in assigned areas.
Ability to: Supervise and coordinate service for a group of clients or target population in a public health program; independently organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow–up on assignments; understand, interpret and apply all pertinent laws, regulations, policies and procedures, to work performed; establish program standards and evaluate performance; use initiative and judgment in a program management; abbreviate impact of interventions on health status of client/community; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including other employees, agencies, and the public; follow written and verbal instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment:
