Summary
The office of Medical Education oversees the education and training of medical students throughout YRMC’s campus and facilities. The Medical Student Coordinator facilitates administrative activities, in conjunction with the GME staff and leadership, to ensure that rotating students and learners have a rewarding experience through organized and effective activities.
This coordinator must establish many effective relationships, work within multiple departmental structures and cultures, and manage various systems/policies, while promoting superior customer service.
Responsibilities
Facilitate onboarding of rotating medical students and learners throughout institution, in collaboration with YRMC Human Resources, Employee Health, and IT.
Serves as liaison between universities, precepting physicians, and rotation sites.
Provides information to preceptors and students prior to the beginning of each clerkship activity (contact information, rotation dates, address, etc.)
Facilitates scheduling that supports student rotations and learning objectives.
Coordinates student evaluation distribution, collection, and reporting.
Maintains current affiliation agreements.
Assures contract parameters of student affiliation agreements are met.
Facilitates timely renewal of student affiliation contracts.
