Job Title: Teacher Aide

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to serve as a Teacher Aide in our program. The successful candidate will assist with the supervision of children, develop and implement classroom activities, and maintain a clean and safe learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain a working knowledge of head start performance standards and Community Care Licensing regulations.
• Create a warm and accepting environment that encourages independence and self-esteem for each child and parent.
• Approach each child, parent, and staff member with respect and sensitivity to their rights, strengths, needs, and cultural background.
• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate classroom activities utilizing Yurok tribal traditions and resources.
• Uphold confidentiality of child and family information.
• Implement guidance techniques that are appropriate to the situation and developmental level of the child.
• Communicate concerns about children to the teacher.
• Understand and implement safety rules and emergency plans.
• Assist in evaluating daily program and individual children's progress.

Qualifications:

• A current and age-appropriate Child Development Association (CDA) Credential OR 12 ECE core units, plus the Infant/Toddler Development course.
• Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Must pass a physical, TB test, hepatitis screen, and fingerprint clearance.
• Must have or be willing to obtain within the first three months Infant Child First Aid and CPR.
