Job Description: Ramp Agent
Location: Bethel, AK
Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 6-7 days per week, 10-hour shifts
Compensation: Starting at $21/hr with a 60-day probation period. Includes $300 flight reimbursement for travel to Bethel. Housing and transportation provided while in Bethel. Overtime opportunities available and required as needed. Average overtime 25-35 hours per week. Benefits package with ID-90, Health Insurance and more.
Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Ramp Agents to join our team in Bethel, AK. This role involves the safe and efficient handling of passengers, freight, and mail for our airline. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Travel may be required to Aniak and St. Mary's stations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Aircraft Handling:
- Safely load and unload passengers, freight, and mail onto and off aircraft.
- Operate forklift in accordance with safety standards.
- Ensure proper weight distribution and secure cargo according to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with pilots and crew to ensure smooth operations.
- Ramp and Facility Maintenance:
- Keep the ramp, warehouse, and terminal areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Perform snow and debris removal to maintain safety standards.
- Dispose of trash and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Teamwork & Safety:
- Adhere to all company and FAA safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Work directly with station manager
- Growth Opportunities:
- Potential for advancement to Lead Ramp Agent or Supervisor positions based on performance and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to pass a DOT background check
- Must be able to pass forklift certification
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Drive and operate ground equipment, such as box trucks, vans and forklifts
- Report equipment problems and breakdowns to facilitate fast repairs
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 70 lbs).
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying extreme weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime, travel to out stations.
- Prior experience in a similar role or aviation industry is a plus but not required.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and time management skills.
