Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination, facilitation, and supervision of educational, recreational and support programming for middle school girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
Responsibilities:
- Represent, advocate and communicate the mission and philosophy of the YWCA to the community at all appropriate times.
-Co-facilitate daily summer groups focusing on the education, empowerment and opportunities for middle school females.
- Positively and effectively communicate knowledge and understanding of personal issues relating specifically to young women.
- Recruit and retain program participants.
- Develop and implement curriculum and program activities.
- Group supervision, including during transportation.
- Administer program evaluation and data tracking tools.
- Review program goals and objectives with Youth & Family Services Director or Assistant Director to identify program effectiveness and best practices.
- Maintain positive relationships with community agencies, professionals, schools and families.
- Maintain working knowledge of community resources and opportunities.
- Assist with all aspects of programming, including management of supplies/food for programs, and clean-up of program space.
- Serve as positive role model providing a safe, nurturing environment for all participants utilizing and modeling strong communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Create and distribute approved documents i.e. correspondence, mailings, copies, and program forms.
- Attend relevant trainings and conferences
- Attend and participate in YWCA and community events as assigned by the Youth & Family Services Director.
- Assume and/or perform additional duties as assigned by the Youth & Family Services Director and Assistant Director.
Qualifications:
· Degree or degree in progress in Social Work, Family Services, Education, or closely related human services field preferred.
· Experience working with female youth preferred.
· Must successfully pass a child abuse and criminal record check.
· Must be certified (or become certified within 30 days of hire) in First Aid, AED, CPR, Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Hazardous Materials.
Approx. 6 hours/day - $15.00/hour
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.09 - $13.95 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
