Cleaner/Janitor

The YWCA is seeking a cleaner/janitor. This position at the YWCA is responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the building and grounds. This position consists of work such as waste removal, sweeping, mopping floors, washing windows, washing walls, replacing toilet supplies as needed, and other tasks as assigned. You will also be responsible for informing the Facilities Manager when supplies are needed or repairs are needed. In addition, you will be asked to maintain organization in supply closets. Candidate should have a flexible schedule.

This is a part time position with days and hours that could vary depending on events being held at the time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently.
Take initiative when finding items out of place or items in disrepair.
Basic knowledge of cleaning products and tools.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as a team
Working knowledge of general safety precautions

Qualifications:

Able to pass a background check

High school diploma or GED

Valid drivers license and transportation

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to kneel, bend, push, pull, and twist
Must be able to work off a ladder occasionally
Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
