Company Sponsored Time: We are piloting a 4-day, 32-hour work week, and YWCA will provide this role 8 hours of Company Sponsored Time for you to use on Fridays to maintain work-life balance while maintaining pay at 40 hours a week.
Pay Range: $27.41 base pay ,eligible for $1/hour bi-lingual differential

Mission:

- Assure that participants, staff, volunteers and community partners are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnic background, gender or socioeconomic background.
- Gain approval for, track, and engage in activities that meet the organization’s 1% for Social Change requirement.
- Think through the lens of racial equity and its intersections with poverty. Use the core principles of anti-racism and grounding those principles in all daily tasks
- Incorporate the YWCA’s commitment to social justice by understanding how racism, sexism, classism and other oppressions intersect and are embedded in institutions. Seek opportunities for continued learning about racial, gender and class equity.
Program management and supervision
- Act as Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) Coordinator to oversee and manage all operations of the DVHRT including; meeting preparation and facilitation, case coordination, operations and communications, record keeping and data analysis, and technical support and training.
- Track expenses related to Legal Advocacy and DVHRT operations.
- Develop a legal advocacy services training plan for SafeChoice staff, volunteers and interns. Communicate this plan to SafeChoice Directors and Vice President of Domestic Violence Services.
- Support participants by providing legal advocacy services at the YWCA community office, in court during protection order dockets (in person and virtual), other events and locations applicable to legal advocacy.
- Provide legal advocacy training to SafeChoice volunteers and staff. Training for shelter staff to occur at shelter.
- Communicate regulary with SafeChoice Directors and Vice President of Domestic Violence Services regarding existing partnerships, strengths of those partnerships and areas for growth.
- Manage referrals to Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program and serve as the primary point of contact.
- Manage referrals from the Domestic Violence Prosecution Center (DVPC) and meet with participants at the DVPC.
- Act as a liason with the Northwest Justice Project.
- Maintain relationships with local Commissioners, court staff and other partners relative to legal advocacy services.
- Provide information to local social service agencies regarding legal advocacy services available with SafeChoice.
- Manage additional projects in relation to legal advocacy services within SafeChoice.
- Work closely with SafeChoice directors and the Vice President of Domestic Violence Services to ensure legal advocacy services are accessible and supportive for survivors.
- Maintain compliance with local and internal regulations such as Washington Administrative Code, confidentiality laws, mandatory reporting, and others as applicable.
- Ensure tracking and recording statistics through applicable databases or other systems.
- Attend and actively participate in organization and community meetings, as appropriate.
- Have valid driver’s license, safe driving record and able to operate a vehicle
- Use agency vehicle to support families with transportation to and from appointments.
- Meet annual program training requirements.
- Provide additional support for SafeChoice services as needed.
Requirements
There is a strong social justice component to all program positions within YWCA, requiring critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty and other forms of oppression. Knowing the core principles of anti-racism and grounding those principles in everyday work are required job skills and core values.
Related education:
- Knowledge of trauma and best practices for creating a trauma-informed work environment for survivors receiving services.
- Has a strong working knowledge of racial equity and commitment to advance anti-racism and inclusion framework in programming, policies and practices.
- Knowledge of protection order processes, preferably within Clark County, WA.
- Knowledge of legal advocacy services for survivors in WA State.
Required experience:
- Two years of experience providing advocacy to victims within a domestic violence program.
- A minimum of fifty hours of training on domestic violence issues and advocacy within the past three years.
Prefererred Experience:
- Six months experience providing legal advocacy services within a domestic violence program.
- One year of experience with court processes.
