Position Overview
The Chief People and Strategy Officer (CPSO) is a key executive leader responsible for aligning YWCA's human resources, organizational culture, and strategic initiatives to advance the mission. This role oversees people operations, talent strategy, organizational development, and strategic planning while fostering a culture reflecting our values of Courage, Compassion, Collaboration and Commitment. The CPSO is a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and collaborates with senior leadership to ensure the organization's structure, policies, and practices support long-term sustainability, impact and growth.
Statement of Duties
Strategic Leadership and Organizational Development
- Support the CEO in the execution of the strategic plan through effective project management and problem solving, involving effective use of staff and resources by using a streamlined process.
- Partner with the Chief Program Officer (CPO) to drive organizational transformation and innovative approaches to program and service delivery, setting benchmarks to accomplish success.
Operational Excellence and Compliance
- Oversee HR operations, policies, and compliance, ensuring alignment with employment laws, ethical standards, and best practices, through supervision of the Human Resources staff.
- Ensure review of Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook annually and update as needed to keep current with applicable law and best practices.
- Implement data-drive decision-making to assess and improve organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with the CFO to align budgeting and resource allocation with strategic goals
- Implement HR technology solutions with current systems and work with the Director of IT/MIS to identify and implement selected software systems for better efficiencies.
People and Culture
- Develop and implement HR strategies that foster a diverse, inclusive, and mission-driven workforce.
- Develop and oversee employee engagement initiatives and professional development opportunities.
- Design and implement a performance appraisal system that supports employee development and organizational objectives and ensure that evaluations are completed for all staff on time annually.
- Oversee employee relations investigations, documentation and recommended resolution, working with designated legal advisors as needed to provide expert counsel and guidance on complex employee matters in conjunction with Human Resources staff.
- Ensure fair and equitable compensation, benefits, and performance management systems that support staff well-being.
Salary: $169,766-$193,895/yr.
