JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION/TITLE: Educator
ROLE TYPE: Full Time and Part Time options available
WORK WEEK/HOURS: Monday through Friday (staff schedules may vary)
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $50,000
REPORTS TO: Early Education Director

About the Early Education Center
Our licensed Early Education Center program offers full day care to infants through preschoolers and provides a warm and caring atmosphere for staff, parents, and children. We are a team of dedicated, enthusiastic, collaborative professionals who love children and work to immerse them in the joy and wonder of childhood. Our programs are open to all children regardless of color, race, economic status, religious background, or family composition and children are accepted unconditionally.

- For Lead Educator and Educator roles: you have professional experience with educating children.
- For Assistant Educator roles: we prefer that you have experience with educating children, but if not, we’re willing to train you.
What you will do:
Our Educators are responsible for the direct care and education of children enrolled in our Early Education programs. As part of your role, you will be responsible for different aspects of the daily operation of our classrooms, ensuring that each classroom functions at the highest quality standard.
Your responsibilities include, but may not be limited, to the following:
- Nurture, encourage and guide children through age-appropriate learning and social experiences.
- Collaborate with other Educators in carrying out our program curriculum to help children learn, grow and play.
- Recognize and protect children from any hazards that are a threat to their physical safety and their emotional well-being.
- Be responsible for the overall condition of your classroom (i.e., safe, clean, neat).
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and participate in ongoing parent communication, conferences and family nights.
- Be an integral part of our collaborative, close-knit, and fun team by attending our scheduled staff meetings
- Participate in other YWCA and YWCA Children’s Center programming or events as requested.
- Continually increase your childcare skills and competence by taking advantage of ongoing training opportunities.
- Promote the values and mission of the YWCA in all interactions with children, parents and staff.
