How does this position make an impact on the community? The Volunteer Program Manager assists all programs within the YWCA Missoula with volunteer recruitment, training and retention and coordination of schedules. The Volunteer Program Manager also evaluates and updates current volunteer practices and materials for the agency. This position also acts as an advocate for the Pathways Program when the team needs extra support in the DV shelter or for walk in assessments. Performance of duties reflects the YWCA’s value that all people will be treated with respect and dignity and approached with recognition of their individual importance.

PARTIAL LIST OF QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or HiSET Equivalency Diploma required.
- Must have dependable vehicle, current driver's license and proof of auto insurance in compliance with Montana state law.
- Must pass a background check designed to protect the interests of YWCA donors and clients.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a variety of individuals, including clients, donors, peers and supervisors.
- Good work habits, including punctuality and ability to organize and manage time and information.
- Ability to accept, act on and offer constructive criticism.
PARTIAL LIST OF DUTIES:
- Waits on customers, receives donations, and writes receipts for donations.
- Sorts, prices, and displays merchandise.
- Projects a positive image of the YWCA, using effective public relations skills.
- Exhibits friendliness toward and consideration of YWCA employees, volunteers, participants, customers and the general public.
- Adheres to YWCA policies and guidelines.
- Acts as a responsible team member.
- In general, demonstrates energy and enthusiasm for her/his work.
- Demonstrates competence as an information source about the YWCA programs and other Missoula programs of similar interest.
- Exhibits an awareness of and ability to deal with diversity among people, including disabilities among clients, staff and customers.
- Displays a neat appearance and competent manner.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds required.
What else you should know: This position can be part-time or full-time, 20-40 hours per week. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm. The base wage for this position starts at $14.49/hour – higher wage would be based on experience calculated using YWCA Missoula’s wage matrix.
